About
Hi and welcome. My name is Tip, and here I write about all sorts of topics related to leading toward equity – primarily in organizational contexts, but also including personal and social areas, too.
After fifteen years as a consultant, working with dozens of organizations ranging from 5 to over 60,000 employees in many organization development-focused engagements (tbd)...
ere I share reflections, ideas, and questions related to leading toward equity. Most of what I cover is about leading in organizational contexts, but I touch on personal and social contexts, as well.
Feel free to reach out anytime with any particular topics or questions you're grappling with that you'd like me to write about.
A bit about me
My name is Tip Fallon. I grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland, and had what I consider a pretty diverse upbringing. I'm multiracial, grew up in a predominantly Black and Brown working-class neighborhood, and have attended schools that are predominantly White, Black, and Hispanic/Latinx. I'm also the son of an immigrant, have a disability, a spouse, and a parent.
My work has taken many forms - from the beginning of my career as an engineer, to managing a small nonprofit, to consulting in a firm for five years, and now over ten years as an independent consultant. I've worked with a wide array of organizations, from nonprofits like the Annie E. Casey Foundation and The Nature Conservancy to government agencies like the FAA and FEMA, to commercial organizations like Cummins and Groupon, and many smaller organizations in each sector.
If there is a throughline to my work, it is my belief in our ability to address complex problems at the intersection of culture, leadership, and equity, and that doing so requires grace, courage, and curiosity. I try to lead with this belief, whether I am doing one-on-one coaching, facilitating an org-wide change program, or processing something with one of our kids.
